Q Chapters 4, 5,6 introduces you to Phase l of the Consulting Process, "Entry to Contracting". After reading and reflecting on chapters 1 through 7, plus 19 in "Flawless Consulting" you should have come to the conclusion that we have covered 1. Some of the essentials of Consulting, 2. The phases of consulting, 3. The steps in the contracting process and its recycling nature, plus, 4. The objective of maintaining a 50/50 balance in taking responsibility for the consulting action. What now follows is a case study. The Bonner Case (see the Wk 3 Folder), highlights a small consulting project. As you read through the Case: 1. Identify each of the various steps of the consulting process and categorize (some, not all of) both the Consultants and Clients comments within each step. 2. Comment on how both Dave (the consultant) and Alan (the client)move through the consulting process. 3. Select some key concepts from the chapters and articles that you have read and integrate these concepts into your answers. Explain how they may apply. 4. Comment on the ceaseless negotiation over Dave’s and Alan’s roles. Please support your answers with specific examples of each of the steps in the process.
